Many people want to build their own eBay Dropshipping business, but don’t know where to start. Today, after reading this here article, you’ll know where to begin. You’ll automatically be in an environment filled with cash-ready customers who’re willing to buy your products. I’ll also teach you how you could ship out products that you simply don’t own yourself, which is known as Blind Shipping or Dropshipping. Alright, let’s get started.
The things you need to know..
Throughout this business development journey, you will have to invest money into it. You’ll also have to accept that you’re going to have risk and it’s very likely you’ll lose some of the money along the way, which almost all business go through this. Your stress will increase and your patients will be tested. This will determine how much you want to succeed. You can’t be a lazy person when you’re building this business, which you must also invest lots of your time into this business. The time you spend not building this business is the time you could have been using and getting closer to succeeding.
When I said you needed to invest in money, that’s because eBay have a funds availability, which they’ll hold your funds for 21 days before you can actually get to spend it. This is bad because when your customers buy, you’ll have to pay your suppliers with your own money until it’s 90 days since your successful sales date, you’ve made more than 25 transactions, and made more than $250 in total sales. This is a major pain in the ass, but if you really want to succeed, you’ll achieve it sooner or later like I did.
It’s not going to be just a piece of cake going through with this business. Your risk will go up because if they’re not satisfied with the product you sold them, you’ll most likely will get horrible feedback and you’ll lost money. It always happen, so you must take the time out to know what your getting yourself into because if you’re getting nothing but horrible feedback and lots of refunds, eBay will probably suspend your account. We don’t want that to happen, so you must research and ask your suppliers all about the product you’re going to sell. Be specific as well when you’re writing descriptions.
If you’re stressed now, prepared to become even more stressed. This may sound bad, but if you’re strong enough, you can reduce your stress level. When starting an eBay business, you may feel sometimes feel like you may not succeed, but you can’t predict it. You’ll feel overworked up with the amounts of work you’ll have to put in to succeed, more work than you think. Your patients will also be tested because most people (even myself) like to see the product that my customer ordered get delivered to their home within a week. That’s most likely not going to happen if you’re getting the items imported into other countries. This will trigger your fear and stress level. It takes time for even the smallest things to leave out of warehouses, especially China. This is normal, simply just be patient and the job will be done.
If you’re a lazy person, that’ll have to change today. You’re going to have to dedicate 4 to 8 hours daily towards your business. I recommend that spend a minimum of 42 hours a week, if you’re truly dedicated. To ensure you’re also going to be in a good position, you should start this business with $75 or more depending on your niche. In this post, I’ll be using earphones as an example.
The last thing you need to know is that you can’t sell just about everything you want in this dropshipping business, e.g., if you wanted to sell headphones and you stumbled upon a trademarked item from your supplier, such as replicas of Dr. Dre Beats. You could be sued and also lose your eBay account. It’s best to stay away from those high risk products and keep your account safe.
1.) Creating an eBay & PayPal Account (Skip if you already have an account)
Alright, to begin this journey, you’ll want to start open an eBay account by registering here. Open and confirm your account. Now that you got your eBay account, it’s time open a PayPal account. You can create your account by clicking here. Now that you have both accounts, link them together & you’re ready to begin your journey.
I personally recommend that you request a PayPal debit card. It’ll save you time when you’ve established your eBay account when it comes to purchasing items that you’re going to be dropshipping to your customers.
2.) Finding the right niche.
To begin, you’d need to make sure you getting yourself into the right niche that’ll fit you best. Pick something that you may have experience in, e.g., I have experience with video game consoles and televisions, therefor I’d stick with the entertainment or electronic niche. It’s very simple.
3.) Where can I find suppliers?
Well, this is all depends if you’re going to be going to be getting products from China or somewhere else. Lucky for you, below I’ve provided a list of suppliers that are ready to do business with you.
- Aliepxress – one of the largest websites for doing dropshipping business with the Chinese, which suppliers very good priced items that’ll brings high profits. (China)
- Buy 4 Low – American dropshipping website for good that’ll help you bring in good profits. Items are shipped from an American warehouse. (United States)
- iOffer - great website for Chinese dropshipping suppliers who’re offering deals for your business. (China)
There’s more, but you’ll have research to find the right one for you. Make sure you look at the reviews of the website and suppliers you’re doing business with. Be aware & skeptical.
4.) Listing items to eBay
Now it’s time to list the item to eBay. You’ll want to create a catchy title & description. It’s best to always do keyword research via Google Keyword Planner tool. You can find out more about keyword research via YouTube and other sources. When listing your product, you’ll want to provide a good image that help the buyer know what he/she is buying from you clearly.
If your supplier provides you with good descriptions, images and more, use it. It’ll save you effort and time to use on another item. It’s also good to optimize the content they give you, just to be on the safe and be more original just in case there’s someone else using the same content as you.
You’ll need to state where your item(s) are coming from on the shipping method. If it’s coming from the United States, you place where in the US. If it’s coming from China, then type in the location in China. Also note how long it’ll take to have the item shipped and delivered. Aliexpress normally would give you an estimate. Simple, simple.
Once you have everything completed, fully list the item. Now list more items. The more items you have, the more chances you have to making a sale. You can never depend on one item to make you a fortune.
5.) Marketing your product(s) via Social Media (My Marketing Strategy)
Now, let’s cut the bullshit. When many say promote your products via social media, what’s the chances of making a sale? LOW! I’ve experienced this here myself when I’ve listened to many people told me to do so. Therefor, I’ve came up with my own strategy of marketing and I hope you follow through with it and improve it. If you do, please e-mail and inform me if your optimizations of my strategy at RonelSimmons@gmail.com.
Firstly, Facebook. There’s billions of people you can connect with to promote your business. The best thing about this is that it’s complete free, unless you use Facebook Ads. To begin my strategy (don’t laugh.. lol), go to Google and find an image of an attractive woman. Try to find one that’s not too professional or else you’ll make it too obvious. When you’ve found the right picture, register a new Facebook account with a fake female name (realistic though) and a real e-mail address (to confirm your account).
Now that your account is up and ready, you’ll want to edit your friends list privacy settings. You can do that easily going to your profile, then click on “Friends”. You’ll then see the manage button on the right of the “Find Friends” button. Click it and then click on “Edit Privacy”. Where it says “Friend List” you’ll want to change that to “Only Me”. This will hide how many friends you have. Now you want to go onto your profile page and delete the post saying that you’ve just created your account.
It’s time to promote your eBay Dropshipping business! To start, you can search up open groups (best ones are the ones related to your niche) that you can join to promote your business. Request to join, then go over to “Members” and as many members as you can. I’ve gathered myself 350+ people to promote my business this way easily. Once you’re in the group, post an image, a good description along the link redirecting to your eBay product.
When you’ve gathered a lot of friends, this is when you can start doing the really good marketing. You’re going to go your profile and prepare a post. This post will include a high quality image of your product, a very informative description of what your offering & why they may need it, and lastly, the eBay link. I’d suggest you use Goo.gl to track how many people are clicking your link. Now that you’ve made that post, you’re now going to open that image on Facebook and tag as many people as you can from your friend’s list onto that image. The max is 50, so go as far as you can with it.
You can also message all of your friends from your list. I’d recommend starting a regular conversation, then bring up your product. Tell them why they may need that product, but don’t make it obvious that it is your product unless you think it is necessary (in most cases, it isn’t).
I don’t recommend buying any gigs via Fiverr when it comes to social media advertising because most people who’re offering the post & tweets have a fake followings and will post you link along with other spam content.
6.) Joining forums based on your niche
This here is another great way to grab buyers. Please note before starting: we’re not going to spam. You want to become involved in the community you’re getting into. Register an account on the forum, the edit you account and add your link to your description (html or regular), ex:
<font size=”2″><b><a href=”www.myproduct.com”>High Quality Earphones for Low Price</a></b></font>
That there was a manual code that’ll show a clickable link to your eBay product. Add one to yours, then start becoming involved in that community.
It’s also good to find a community that has a buy/sell sections. It’ll make it easy for you to make sales in a long run.
7.) Making your first sale
When you’ve made your first sale, congratulations. You’ll now want to go on eBay, PayPal, or your e-mail and gather your customer’s shipping information. Now go to your supplier and buy the item and enter your customer’s shipping information. When the transaction is complete, you’ve be provided a tracking number, you’ll then enter that tracking number onto eBay.
Do not spend the money you’ve made until you’ve gotten feedback from your customer.
If you spend the money you’ve made before getting feedback, you could be at risk of losing more money. If the product is delivered and your customer haven’t given you feedback within 7 days, you should be okay.
Simply do this over and over again until you’ve made enough to lift the fund availability. When you’ve done that, you’ll be able to use the customer’s money to purchase the items, which you won’t have to use any of your money anymore.
I hope the best for you and your business, honestly. If there’s anything I can do to help, please e-mail me or leave a comment here on my blog and I will respond as soon as I can.
